Free online batch conversion of regular PDFs to PDF/A archival standards. All processing runs locally in your browser — no documents are uploaded. Supports PDF/A-1, PDF/A-2, and PDF/A-3 international archival specifications.
No. All PDF parsing, format validation, archiving standard restructuring, and document packaging export logic runs entirely offline in your local browser.
Up to 200MB per file. 1. PDF/A-1 (Legacy, best compatibility): For older archive systems, no embedded attachments, text and images only. 2. PDF/A-2 (Recommended): Best balance of compatibility and stability, supports high-res vector graphics and layers. 3. PDF/A-3 (Supports attachments): For archiving PDFs with embedded Excel, Word, or original source files.
The conversion performs archiving standardization: all fonts are embedded, image color spaces are standardized, dynamic scripts/multimedia/expired links are removed, editing is locked, and a long-term archive-compatible structure is generated.
No. Your local original PDF is never modified. All archiving operations are processed in browser memory only. A new PDF/A-compliant file is exported.
No export limits. The output PDF/A contains no additional watermarks. No registration required. Free for personal and commercial use.
PDF/A is a read-only archive standard. The converted file locks editing, annotation, and modification, supporting only viewing and printing. To modify, keep the original PDF for editing and re-archive.
How It Works
This PDF to PDF/A tool is built on the OpenDataLoader open-source local PDF parsing engine. All file processing is performed offline in your browser.
1. 1. Local PDF Complete Parsing: Reads all page layers, text, images, fonts, multimedia, scripts, and attachment data from the uploaded PDF into browser local memory.
2. 2. PDF/A Standards Validation & Cleaning: Performs standardized cleaning based on the selected archiving standard (PDF/A-1 / PDF/A-2 / PDF/A-3):
- Fully embeds all fonts inside the PDF to prevent missing characters.
- Standardizes image color profiles for long-term archival color preservation.
- Controls embedded attachments per standard: PDF/A-1 prohibits, PDF/A-2 limited support, PDF/A-3 full support.
3. 3. Archive Structure Reconstruction: Rewrites the underlying PDF data stream per ISO PDF/A standards, adding archive identifiers, read-only permission locks, and long-term compatible page trees and index structures.
4. 4. Archive PDF Local Export: After standardization, packages the PDF/A archive file locally in the browser. One-click download without modifying the original PDF.
