This PDF bookmark removal tool is built on the OpenDataLoader open-source local PDF parsing engine. All file processing is performed offline in your browser.
1. Local PDF Complete Parsing: Reads the complete binary data stream of the uploaded PDF, identifies the built-in bookmark outline tree, bookmark page mapping fields, and proprietary extended bookmark data.
2. Bookmark Data Identification & Marking: Automatically counts total bookmarks, distinguishes standard Adobe bookmarks from third-party proprietary bookmarks, and marks all bookmark-associated fields for removal.
3. Document Structure Cleaning:
- Preserve Layout Mode: Only deletes bookmark outline and page mapping data, fully retaining page layers, headers, footers, and formatting.
- Full Rewrite Mode: After clearing all bookmark-related fields, globally reconstructs the underlying PDF data stream.
4. Bookmark-Free PDF Local Export: After bookmarks are completely removed and document structure is rebuilt, generates a brand new PDF without any bookmark outline locally in the browser.
